Centre for Financial Literacy MoneyWise

The “Centre for Financial Literacy” (CFL) Project being implemented by AROH Foundation in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and funded under Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) by NABARD and sponsored banks, is an initiative aimed at promoting financial awareness and education among individuals and communities across India. This project seeks to empower people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions, manage their finances effectively, and achieve greater economic stability. This Financial Literacy Project offers a range of educational programs, workshops, and resources to enhance people's understanding of concepts like savings, investments, budgeting, banking services and a range of govt. welfare schemes i.e. insurance, subsidies, pension schemes etc. Through these initiatives, the project aims to promote economic inclusivity, reduce financial vulnerabilities and ultimately contribute to the economic growth and well-being of the nation.

By fostering financial literacy, this collaborative effort between AROH Foundation and RBI is poised to make a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and communities, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to achieve financial independence and security.

This project seeks to empower people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions, manage their finances effectively, and achieve greater economic stability.

Achievements Highlights

    The project spans a total of 754 blocks across 110 districts in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, supported by leading banks in the respective districts, including SBI, UBI, PNB, BoB, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of India, and UCO Bank.
  • Uttar Pradesh: 320 blocks in 40 districts
  • Rajasthan: 89 blocks in 14 districts
  • Punjab & Haryana: 114 blocks in 22 districts
  • Gujarat: 210 blocks in 28 districts
  • Madhya Pradesh: 21 blocks in 6 districts
  • The initiative has established 249 Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL) centers and conducted a total of 50,307 Household Training and Mass Awareness Camps, ensuring extensive outreach and impact.
  • As of November 2024, the project has successfully trained 17,88,367 participants, including 7,37,575 male and 10,50,792 female participants, reflecting a strong emphasis on gender inclusion and empowerment.
  • The program has significantly advanced financial inclusion by facilitating the opening of new bank accounts and the distribution of insurance and pension products, while also supporting participants with grievance redressal, online banking transactions, mobile wallets, and digital payments.
  • Additionally, the project has sensitized participants to advanced financial products, such as Mutual Funds, enabling them to make informed decisions and fostering greater financial literacy at the grassroots level.
